I'm beginning to think that my nose is rather simplistic and pedestrian. So far I have tried 3 of my BPAL perfumes. Marie was nice, although I didn't put much on because that's when I was heading out to visit Subs. New Orleans which I tried yesterday, was alright. But it smelled pretty musky, and not wet and floral like I thought it would. Also, it kind of smelt like bug repellant at times. Today I tried Eve which smells very musky, although there does not seem to be musk in it. Unless ylang-ylang is a musky thing? Because all the other notes were supposedly floral. Also, when I first put it on, it smelt like my attic. Like...musty. Sort of...insulation smelly? Maybe my body has weird chemistry that makes perfume smell musky. But I've never had that problem before. Although I did read that at certain times of the month your sense of smell is better. So maybe my sense of smell is whack. (I have no idea where that came from. I am not the ghetto twin). But also, there are all these people analying and smelling ever note in a perfume, or coming up with a complete sensory image of what a perfume smells like. But I apparently can only tell what something smells like if it smells like one thing. I can't pick out different scents from a perfume. Hence all my one note floral perfumes like jasmine, rose, etc etc. Thank goodness I didn't have a life long dream to become a Perfumer... ^^;;
All I have to say, is these 3 remaining perfumes better ber floral and not musky, darnit.
EDT 1: I'm having mom try Eve, since there is nothing musky in it. So far you can smelk the apple blossoms strongly.
EDT 2: I also want to try these:
TIGER LILY - A feisty bouquet of golden, warm, gently honeyed lilies.
TWO, FIVE & SEVEN - A huge bouquet of squished rose petals: Bulgarian rose, Somalian rose, Turkish rose, Damascus rose, red and white rose, tea rose, wine rose, shrub roses, rose, rose, rose…
…and just an itty bitty bit of green grass.
Although I wish that they still had single notes, because I would have liked those alot.
