Seri in L.A article requested by Megucchi XD
Here you go, since you said you wanted to see it! (sorry I can't show you the pictures right now)
Seri’s life in L.A has begun.
As we told you in the last issue, beginning in April, Seri will be living in L.A. It will be a new life in a new environment. In the 7 years she’s been modeling, it’s her first time living in a foreign country. Seri had visited L.A many time for both work and vacation, and it’s one of her favorite cities. She plans to move her home base to L.A for a while, and go back and forth to Japan. Her wedding, moving, buying necessities, putting together a new home, her first time driving. Seri says, “It’s hard, but everything is new and exciting, so it’s all a lot of fun.” We followed the happy woman to L.A to photograph her new life.
I visited the home of Cheryl a designer for Royal Order. The house is in an expensive neighborhood in L.A, and she tells me that P. Diddy used to live there. It has a big pool and a Jacuzzi, and since I love swimming I was a bit jealous. I felt the amazing connection between L.A and Hollywood.
I’ve been going to the furniture stores in the neighborhood to look for furniture for the new house. But I can never decide because I’m always thinking, ‘Maybe there’s something better.’
I used to cook every so often, but I’ve brought all kind of ingredients from Japan to L.A this time, so I can basically make anything. Rather than going out just to eat, I think that more often we’ll decide to eat at home.
I love houses where you can see the ocean. I love that L.A has both the ocean, and a big city. When I wake up and open the window, the ocean is right there. This is the kind of life I always wanted.
I always loved L.A. The climate is wonderful, it’s on the ocean, and it’s a big city. Looking at it from the viewpoint of Tokyo, it feels like Yokohama to me. I grew up in Yokohama so that might be why it makes me feel at home. Before I thought that if I were going to live abroad I’d like to live in Hawaii, but because I love fashion I get bored if I’m not in some kind of city. Because even if you get all dressed up, there’s no one else to enjoy it. I decided I could never live in a southern country because it’s so much fun to look and be looked at, and I love seeing other people’s style. When I heard about the plan to live in L.A for a while, I thought ‘This is awesome!’. Because I’ve really worked as hard as I could all these years. I’m really the time who wants to take a break while I’m working, but I didn’t have the timing or the courage to stop and change the way I worked…
Right before I went to L.A, I got my driver’s license. I passed on the first try! I got an international license and yesterday I drove for the first time here. It felt so good! It was awesome. America is a big country, but San Francisco, and New York, everywhere is connected by the road. I want to drive and take a trip to somewhere.
Because I lived at home until I got married, I’d never needed to start up a new life from scratch before, so my new life is a lot of work, but that’s so much fun right now. I just wanted to take this long sojourn to be with [my husband], but for it to be in L.A, and to be able to live near the ocean, it’s really wonderful. If I get homesick? I’ll go home. (she laughs) I don’t want to be here enough to stay if it’s painful. I don’t want to make any decisions about what I need to do from here on. Right now I’m having the most fun thinking about what to do. I can’t talk to people here, because I don’t speak the language, and it’s great. (she laughs) It feels really good not to have to explain what I’m thinking to people. I feel like I’m on a long vacation. After working for 7 years, I finally did it. It’s just a break, and it won’t last forever, but I’ve finally been rewarded for all of that.
