Review of DA PUMP's new single

I have absolutely loved everything DA PUMP has released since, and including ‘Shippu Ranbu Episode II’, which ranks as one of the most solid albums I’ve listened to. The harmonies, the playing around with rap styles, the fusion of western and asian music, and of course Issa incredible voice… They’ve grown from an almost boy band with Super Monkey syndrome (meaning only Issa ever sang) to a four person unit, writing all their own music and lyrics. I hope they keep it up.

Like this – Dance hall flavor with violins in the background. A great song for dancing.

Still in my heart – An up-tempo ballad with some great Spanish style guitar throughout. Very nice.

Bambism of Asia – yet another of the Japanese/Asian music inspired tracks that Da Pump began doing in their last album. It references two of the songs from said album in the drum beat and shamisen riffs, which I love. The chorus is the same dreamy choral vocals as ‘Wadachi’, and the whole song has the same feeling actually, like you should be listening to it walking towards a Shinto shrine. Once again Ken proves that rap and shamisen are by no means mutually exclusive. I have no clue what ‘Bambism’ means though. Is it even a real word?
