Called my Dad and told him all about Warped. Halfway through he says, ‘Do you recognize this?’ and what do I hear but ‘Helena’. While I was talking he’d wondered what MCR sounded like and found a 30 second sample on iTunes. He then proceeded to ask me things from the bio like, ‘Did you know that Gerard had severe depression?’, like he knew these things off the top of his head. Very cute. It’s nice that he takes an interest in the things I like nowadays, instead of asking why I don’t listen to other [non-Japanese] music. I guess all it took was for the music to be American. ^^;
I’d really like some Earl Grey ice cream, and some fruits confits (even though I think in reality I liked the idea of candied fruit more than the actual thing itself) because there was this Home Perfume at L’occitane en Provence that smells just like it.
I’d like to be able to sew all the beautiful clothes that I see in magazines and can’t afford.
Eleven years and counting and there’s a moment in each of the songs on globe’s new record that makes me remember that TK’s a genius. And Keiko still has one of the most amazing, individual voices in J-pop.
