Thoughts on stuff
Apparently TAI has a new video out for 'Same Blood'. A live footage type one. Usually I don't like those (and TAI have too many already! Com'on guys! I don't need the genius of 'Big Mess' again, but at least give me some more William flouncing and being primped by hair and make up, and drawing hearts on fogged shower glass while singing while wo men? take a shower together. That video owns my heart) but I guess I couldn't see any other kind for 'Same Blood' (Gabe's fav TAi song, doncha know?) But I have yet to see it, so...
Also, I really need to look into this band called <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/justoffthekeyof/1922.html"> The Josephine Collective </a> . They're opening for the Used! There is like seven people in it, so they are their like own sports team/class of a small exclusive boys school! There are two lead singers, who apparently flounce and flirt and play off each other really well. (I am such a sucker for bands with two leader singers! Monty Are I! A Scripted Thingy! MAX for most of their history!) Two members are brothers! One guy is really pretty! There used to be a member whose last name was Redwine, but he left the band to do a different band! I need to see how the music is!! I hope I like it!
Speaking of MAX...Li-chan is coming out with a new photo book this month. I'm excited, because new Li-chan is always awesome, but...I just hope it's not basically erotica like the last photo book she did. I know that's the way it goes...formerly popular idol goes nude, but...I never wanted that for any of them. If they want to do things like that, more power to them, I just don't want that to be the only option they have. But this book is apparently produced by Li-chan all the way, so...she's always like the model/fashion side of things, I guess that's ok.
But then....the copy said something like 'See side of Li-chan that's different from Lina of MAX.' And I thought...we never get to see that side anymore anyway! I'm wondering if MAX are slowly, and without fanfare, coming to an end. Just because...they've released one new song in...almost two years.
<lj cut text="Thoughts on MAX">And it wasn't even a single, it was on a Christmas Compilation CD of a bunch of Vision Factory Artists. I know they've said they want to wait until they come across good songs to make releases, but...the way the industry works....how often will that happen? Plus, I though their last single was...pretty mediocre. They're really just scrapping the bottom of the barrel. It's not their fault they only get the pick of crap material, but...At least before they were doing a lot of small shows and smaller tours. Now they seem to be just doing other stuff.
I would love for them to produce themselves. (They did produce their last album) I would love for them to get together with Da Pump (although since Shinobu left, they haven't done much either, except for Issa releasing a 4 track solo single). Because DP actually writes their own music, and I would love to see what they would write for MAX. It would be amazing.
At this point, I'm tempted to say I wish they'd broken up when Mina left, like they almost did. Or at least, if VF wasn't going to use the opportunity to promote them properly , they should have let them do what they wanted instead of force a new member on them) I don't know. I love Aki, and I love some of the songs they've done, but...I think I would have rather have them end than peter out into inactivity.
They have so much potential, and I feel like so much of it has been squandered by Industry BS. </lj cut>
And I should really be working on my rewrite. I'm almost done. I will be so glad to have it finished. It's been hellish.
