My mother loves American Idol. She has been watching it faithfully every season since Season 2, excluding her boycott after Constantine got kicked off that one year. When I lived at home, she would force us to watch it during dinner. My step-dad is much worse than Simon Cowell, which was sort of hilarious. She still makes him and my grandmother watch it every week.

This year, she has picked out a favorite for me, who has subsquently become her favorite, Adam Lambert. (She even called in and voted for him.)

Adam looks like a Scene Boy cousin of the Jonas Bros, complete with black nail polish. On my mother's recommendation, I listened to his punk (?) rendition of 'Ring of Fire' from Country night the other night. And I have to admit, man does that boy have a voice. Power, and amazing high notes. Wow! I hope he wins!!

During our discussion of Adam, my mom mentioned how even though he was very 'punk looking' and wore nail polish, he came off as very straight, not gay at all.
