Yay! I have a summer job! *knock on wood - I'm actually still training * I'm a waitress at Takeshima Japanese Restuarant. XD Today I went for my first training night. Makiko-san, who is the head waitress took me around and told me things as she remembered something she would should be telling me (I talk to her only in Japanese). The manager, J, is nice, and the rest of the people who work there (a cashier, two sushi chefs and two kitchen staff (all of whom are Korean I think) seem nice too. Makiko-san looks alot like Tano-san from Hyper. (Speaking of which, I just accidently typed 'Makino' instead). For most of the night I brought people water and oshibori, re-filled water, cleared tables and washed and set them. It was fun. Tomorrow Makiko-san said she will have me try and wait at least one table. I hope that goes alright. It's all a bit complicated what with there being kitchen and sushi bar, 25 order by number appetizers, and some entree's we have to put the fixings on ourselves. But J said he's sekritly pay me for the training, heh heh. Hopefully I won't make any horrendous mistakes and get fired tomorrow. LOL A couple customers talked to me and were very nice, and told me I was doing a good job. Sam, the cashier told me one of the customers had said, 'Be nice to that new girl, she looks so nervous.' I said I hadn't meant to look nervous, but Sam said that everyone's really nice, so I shouldn't worry. And so far it is fun. Although we don't have a cute uniform, we just have to wear black.
Yesterday I hung out with Ami in Harvard Square, and slept over at her house. It was a lot of fun. their new kitten is sooo cute. I bought a big box of turkish delight (rose flavoured of course), and found the second volume of the English version of Hajikete!B.B. I bought it, because I have decided to send it to my Anna-san, because I think she will get a kick out of it. (She's called 'Ms. Anna' in it, btw) Only...the last page is a news page from the Adapter, and...I could not believe...the jist of the page was... "OMG! I just found out the Da Pump is a real group! And it turns out Actor's is a real school! Who knew!?' *palm to forehead*. WTF? They didn't know that when they started translating it? And I was worried about the *readers* not knowing.... I've been trying to find an address to write to them about their sheer stupidity (and tell them Anna-san's real too, as is B.B WAVES), but so far I can't find one...
