Two clues that I am maybe not so awake right now....

- I tried to make the coffee without putting water in the coffee machine

- Then I poured myself a glass of drinking water in my coffee cup.

Uh huh.

You know what would make a fabulous fruit salad?

Mango, papaya, cantalope, ruby red grapefruit, mango, oranges, and those golden raspberries I saw at the Bowl the other day. It would be so beautiful. And you could serve it with some kind of spiced whipped cream. Now I really want that...

I really like scones. I’d like to make them, as there’s a wonderful looking recipe in Nigella’s ‘Domestic Goddess’, but she says to eat them right out of the oven, so I guess the best thing to do would be to make them on some weekend day when we’ve nothing to do, so we can have a little tea party thing. Also, I’d like to get some clotted cream for them, which I might have to go to the British store in the city for. But anyway, that’s a little daydream of mine, along with having a proper British breakfast with bangers and beans and fried bread, scrambled eggs and tomatoes. Hmm…now I want to visit England again.

Sitting in the shokudou, eating rice sandwiched between the salty Korean nori strips that Kinoko brought me back from Japan....
