Various today things
Dec. 2nd, 2004 10:10 pmI am currently at my homestay, taking a break from Kawabata kicking my @ss both in English and Japanese, as I have to read both versions before I can write my paper.
Have also been told by JWU that I have been absent from Comparative Linguistics twice (oh the horror!), and will not get credit if I do not write my report, which they want me to finish by next class if possible. Or I could send it to the sensei. As I do not know what I am supposed to write about, esp. because on the new e-mail I recieved it says it is to be 'Concerning the class'. So I have to go and get the correct e-mail addy for the sensei tomorrow.
In other news, I made an appointment to get my roots touched up (for free), and a haircut (not for free) at the for gaijin salon that all the ryugakusei have been going to. I am thinking of cutting it short again. Or rather, cutting it short, because I'm so used to having long hair, the whole period of time when it was short doesn't actually feel real to me, in then sense that I for there was such a period of time. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm thinking a little below chin legnth. If unbeknownst to me, I look like crap with short hair and should avoid it, please comment.
I also bought HYDE's new album and photobook, and am quite pleased with both. His angel-wing tatoo on his back is bloody sexy. And I am in love with the longish haired more black eyeshadow and liner than Cpt Jack Sparrow HYDE in the 'Hello' PV.
In addition to the HYDEness, I seem to have succumbed to the dream that is Takarazuka, the bug has bit me hard: I bought a book of the 2003 top stars, as well as an issue of Takarazuka Graph magazine because it has Wao and Hana-chan for the 'me and my partner' section looking v. v. adorable!! And I am quite found of Asami Hikaru now, who I have decided to call 'Hikaru-kun' or 'Hikaru-chan' because she is too cute and boyish to be -sama'ed like my Tom-sama.
The highlight of the day was when I accidently ran into Nozomi and Hisami, who were my friends from Romance Literature class last semester, and we somehow got into a spirited discussion of the new LA Sailormoon, and SM in general, which led into a discussion about how people were always going up on rooves (esp of schools) in anime etc and I had never been up on a roof, and it turned out that you can go up on the JWU roof. So Hisami and Nozomi took me up there, and it was so beautiful and magical! The rooftop is completely landscaped, with flowers and benches, and it was such a beautiful sunny day that you could even see Mt.Fuji. It was just like a scene from a tv show that you would watch and scoff 'Things like that never happen in real life'. It was so wonderful. So we sat there and talked about Christmas and Valentine's day, and I told them the Christmas Story, as far as I know it. I wish that I'd figured out about the rooftop before. It's so great.
Lastly, I just signed up for the Delmore community. Yay! It excites me! I loved our RPG!!! Only, it's been so long, I don't know....where are we in it, people? What's happening now?
