The day before yesterday, I went to a concert with Ami and Joel. It was my first real Punk show. Well, except that there were a lot of Teenies, and not too many peope 'dressed punk'. But I guess the latter doesn't really matter so much. Because they all turned out to be a great crowd. So anyway, there were 3 bands. The first was something about ghosts, where the guy just SCREAMED into the mic. I guess it's his anger management, but I didn't think our ears needed to be subjected to it. His band actually wasn't bad though. The next band was better, but they have a long name and don't remember it. LOL Something circuit. They were a bit whiny though, which Joel said was Emo. The singer kind of reminded me of Terry. Well, Terry's PB. ^^;;
Then finally New Found Glory came out. I'd never heard any of there songs before I don't think, and I only knew that the drummer (I think) was named Cyrus, but I ended up having a really good time. I liked a bunch of their songs, and was able to sing pieces of them, like the chorus. The singer, Jordan had a pretty good voice! But more than that, he (and the rest of the band as well) were great performers. I mean, he really sang to the audiance, bending over, and singing to them, and holding out the mic for the audiance to sing parts, and even jumping down into the crowd and singing there a few times. And the chorus/guitarist also kept talking to the audiance. The bands banter with each other and the audiance was really cute, like when the Bassist's mic was off and he said he didn't want to talk anyway and Jordan said, "Tell me what you wanted to say, man. I'll say it for you." At the end, the chorusguitarist said some great things about how we should go to your nearest independant music store and buy a bunch of new CDs and listen to them (esp to the bands in their liner thanksyous), and how it didn't matter what kind of music you listened to, and how we should be open-minded about everything, and also thanked all of us for coming to the show, because the small shows were really what it was all about. So I really liked them. Although I will admit that in the back of my mind a lot was, 'Imagine if we got to see GC like this...'
On the drive home, Ami played this Swedish BalladicOpera!Metal band called Nightwish. They were really interesting. But I was fighting so hard against sleep. After Joel and I left Ami's we went to a diner (it was about 1:30) where we had some food since we hadn't eaten dinner. The food was really good, and I want to go back to get some of the fabulous looking cakes they had. Although we decided it was time to go home to bed because I put sugar on the fries by accident. ^^; But it was a really nice diner, and a fun end to a fun evening. It reminded me of eating with everyone at the Wateley(sp?).

Yesterday I just stayed home until I went to get my hair cut and highlighted, but it was the first beautiful hot day in a long time, so I took the boombox outside, and turned up my music really loud, and danced outside under the blue sky. Which is always a dream of mine, and this is maybe the second or third time I've gotten to do it. It's just so much fun. Although doing Beat for the first time in so long, I realised I really need to widen my repetoire of what I can do. At night I cooked dinner because Mom was tired, and it was something I'd made before, and then we all watched 'The Commitments', which is this great Irish movie about a band. It made me so happy because they said 'arse' and 'me Da' and 'eejit' and 'wanker' and 'tosser' and all of those things I've learned. And also 'f--king' after like every word. XD Hermione and Subs have convinced me to get the Gryffindor shirt. XD

Apparently the disc I burn all my favourite slash off the laptop is messed up, because it keeps hanging up the computer. So I hope that the files are still on the laptop, because if not, I've lost all my favourite slash files. This sucks. I hate burning things to disc, half the time they don't really work. And I swear I double-checked all the discs after I burnt them. Of course I have no clue where the laptop is, I'll have to ask later. I'm gonna be really pissed if I've lost all these files, since a lot of the fics I don't remember where I got them, or the titles, etc.
