Jan. 25th, 2006 08:09 amOff to get my hair re-dyed and cut.
Have discovered that violets taste rather like soap. But somehow, the romance of eating violet creams allows me to overlook that. If I were really decadant and Romantic, I would eat them while sitting in a dark incense filled room reading the Renee Vivian's poetry while drinking that rose flower bubble-tea which tastes like nothing more than drinking perfume, which is what the Muse Of Violets used to do. (It was this imbibing of perfume, combined with alcholism and anorexia that led to her early death).
If I get bored, I should work on that historical film of Natalie Clifford Barney and Vivian's lives that came to me during finals. However, that would require me to have NCB's biography, and somehow I'm not sure if our little library has any. Oh well.
Yesterday I went to look at sinks with mom, as we as currently renovating the downstairs bathroom in preparation of Nana coming to live with us,and in the display room I made the amusing discovery that apparently what was state of the art in 1903 is still state of the art now, since the most expensive shower was exactly like the one in the Flagler Musuem, where the bather stands inside the metal hoops of the show, and is sprayed by water from several directions. (in case anyone was wondering, that shower was over $14,000. O_O )
There is a new Sanrio store in the mall, in which I found a new character, Chi Chai Monchan. He is the cutest thing eva!1!!one. Yes.
