OMG an update!
Mar. 24th, 2008 01:50 pmWow, I haven't updated for like a month...I like how I go from updating about 100 times a day to like once a month.
In recent news...in the last two weeks went to four shows.
1) Taking Back Sunday
This was the weirdest venue ever, it felt like nothing so much as a camp mess hall. I was kind of meh about the songs I didn't know, but the songs I knew were awesome. Adam had bad hair, but he did all kinds of microphone spinning and prancing around. Lord is that boy gay! I mean! He twirls! And his wrists, the limpness! (Also, man does he have a thick accent when he speaks! Hello Southern Hospitality! I would seriously pay just to hear him and Tyson Ritter have phone sex, because accents? So hot) Also, Adam's tricks with the microphone continue to be really, inexplicably hot.
2) My Chemical Romance
We got to be in the third and then the first row for this show, which was amazing. What can I say, these boys put on an amazing show. They did the first half as The Black Parade, and the second as My Chem, which was a very cool idea, and worked beautifully. Cy and I decided that BP!Gerard (in the 19th century military get up and white face makeup) is basically Gerard as he would be if he hadn't stopped the drinking and the drugs. Rough, wild, dangerous and more than a little mean. To be himself, Gerard wore normal clothes, took off the makeup, and put on a lot of eye-make up. There's just something about Gerard that I can't explain, I spent most of the show completely in thrall. The only other people sone effects me the way he does is Hyde. Let's see, what else...there was this one moment where Gerard actually made eye contact with someone near me, and it was so amazing to what his eyes widen in recognition and his face break out into a grin as they really connected. We were on the Ray side, and it was fun to watch Ray rocking out. Sadly Gerard did not lick Mikey's chest, but he did chase him around a little, as Mikey danced away laughing, so maybe he made an attempt? LOL Frank got on his knees at one point and blew a kiss up at Gerard, and then there was so faux-blow job action. At one point Frankie pick up a light stick and threw it back to the crowd, with the cutest smile on his face. The best quote of the night was Gerard's: 'Why do I have such a filthy mouth? Maybe because I put such filthy things in it.' For hours after the show I was grinning and laughing like an idiot. God do I love them!
3) Oreska Band
This was a relatively spur of the moment thing. Oreska Band is the girl-ska band from Japan, whose English Blog I am in charge of. I got a call from the company saying they’d be performing here and offering me free tickets because they wanted to meet me, so Cy and I went. To my surprise, they’re *really* good! The music, the vocals, it was all great! They’re really talented! Cy said they’re the first girl ska band she’s ever seen that don’t’ suck, and that they were fantastic! Unfortunately, things were kind of disorganized, so I only got to meet two of the girls, but they were super nice!
4) Anti-Flag.
Ah Anti-flag. There’s no one that can be them for sheer power. They’re just so genuine, so passionate. And they actually give you hope that we *can* all get together and do something, that we really are ‘brothers and sisters’, as they call us.
This was my first time seeing Anti-Flag so close up, and #2? Is so hot, damn. He’s just so hot and passionate. And he kept pressing up against Justin’s back, and grinning into the back of his neck. One time he just pressed up against him and kind of leaned his forehead against the back of Justin’s head, and there was just something so incredibly *intimate* about it. During the encore they were all grinning their heads of, especially #2, and his smile was so fierce and so true and so joyful.
