Somehow Joely and I have been falling deeper and deeper into Fall Out Boy. We've just been listening to their latest CD nonstop. Patrick, the singer has a really great voice and their lyrics, written by Pete are possibly the cleverest I have ever seen. The way he plays with words is just amazing.
FOB is another band that is just becoming superpopular right now, but they're still in that stage where they can be really available to all the fans. If any thing's sad about bands getting really popular is that the sheer number of people who want to see them limits the contact they can have with fans, just for reasons of practicality and feasiblity. Anyway, Pete's journal on the official website has recently been just filled with thanks to their fans and how much they mean to FOB - albiet all in wry, darkly humorous Pete-style. It just got me thinking a little, because MAX has been on a little tour for their new single, and their official blog has been filled with thanks to their fans and how much they mean to MAX - albiet in sweet, guiless Japanese-style. Anyway, Joely and I have been doing a lot of talking about bands/groups/artists and fans and how each needs the other just as much, and to see two mirrored journals from people in different languages and different countries just really brings that home, I think.
