1. one book that changed your life:
Well, 'Anne of Green Gables' was really the beginning of a lifelong love of anything Victorian/Edwardian, and it definitely shaped my way of thinking, my writing and my vocabulary.
In the larger scheme of things, Masayuki Makino's 'Sainou', because if I hadn't read that book, I think my life would be quite different. Think of all the things I wouldn't have done and the people I wouldn't have known. And regardless of what I may think of Makino-sensei now, his philosophy of doing what you love to bring other people joy remains untarnished.
2. one book that you've read more than once:
Wow, I have read so many books over and over. At one point I'd read 'The Vampire Lestat' over so many times I had the first page memorized.
3. one book you'd want on a desert island:
Ooh, that's a hard one...maybe the Complete Claudine, by Colette.
4. one book that made you laugh:
'Shimotsuma Monogatari', by Novala Takemoto. I was laughing outloud like an idiot.
5. one book that made you cry:
'Memnoch the Devil'. For like, a week straight. Oh Armand...
6. one book that you wish you had written:
I'm not sure. I don't often find myself reading a book and thinking, 'I wish I could write like that.' Funnily enough, I do often think that about fic.
7. one book that you wish had never been written:
Any book the inspired hatred or prejudice.
8. one book you're currently reading:
'The Wilder Shores of Love' by Leslie Blanch.
9. one book you've been meaning to read:
'Cheri' by Colette.
