I am 23 years old, and I am wearing a mock school uniform.
It's all because I found my Bunkyo ribbon - the only bit of my uniform I was allowed to keep, and that because I pretended I'd lost it when I had to give the uniform back, so I am wearing my blouse with the Claudine (otherwise known as Peter Pan) collar, the pleated plaid kilt that Leslie gave me, and the of course, the ribbon. It's actually an amazing piece of fabric, even the ends are sew into diagonal cuts so it always forms the perfect bow. Except if you suck at tying it, and it comes out lopsided, the way it always did when I had to tie it everyone morning for school.
But yes. I am 23 years old, and I am still dressing like a high school student. Nemo-sen would scold me if she saw. But I don't care. Maybe someday I'll get over this whole schoolgirl obsession. But maybe not. After all, half of Japan hasn't.

So very, very true. Understanding this sentiment is greatly helped by the fact that every time I see one of my (boy) students, I fantasize finding out where they get their uniforms, and explaining it as a souvenir for my mysterious boyfriend of the same stature.
