So the first day at the restaurant went pretty well. I only messed up once! It seems like it will be pretty much a lot like working at Takeshima: The restaurant's small, and I'm working Lunch, so I'll be the only waitress. This mean, of course, that things will either be dead, or I'll get three tables at once and have to run around like mad. It's kind of a lot of responsibility, as these things go, but I did it once, I suppose I can do it again. Also, the owner Tokoyo, is also the sometime Sushi chef, so that will definitely make things easier. She seems really laid back: We can wear jeans, and she told me just to go slowly and wasn't irritated or anything when I messed up a customer's order, just said it was only my first day. It's kind of nice to be doing something again. I had this odd surge of motivation, like, 'I going to be the best damn waitress eva!!11!'. I guess we all need some kind of goal.
The guy who trained me, Randy, was really nice. Today I'll have training again with a girl named Maho. I wonder if it's the girl who waited on me last time I was there? I hope so, she was really nice. Also, I wouldn't be meeting here for the first time, which is the part I'm kind of meh about, since it's like yesterday all over again. I took the Lunch shift tomorrow too, because the usual girl has the day off, and I'll have to be by myself on Tues, and I figured better to have my first day on my own after two days of training as opposed to after four days of nothing in which I could forget everything.
EDT: So yesterday was super busy, and really stressful. (Also long, since these ladies stayed a half an hour after closing. I actually had to say to them, 'Uh, we're closed...' so they'd leave!)Maho turned out to be the owner's daughter. She was nice, but she's been working there every shift every day for who knows how long, so she knew everything like the back of her hand, which didn't make for easy training. I messed up a few things, and she seemed really frustrated with me. Today's my first day on my own, and I'm really stressed about it. I just pray that it won't be too busy today and I won't fuck things up spectacularly.
