The new b-sides from Panic's 'Nine in the Afternoon' single
It's official. The Beatles have possessed the boys of Panic for their own nefarious purposes. I'm feeling very nervous for the album. Putting the fact that I just really loved their first record aside, I...don't really like the Beatles. There, I've said it. I mean, they have some good songs, and I recognize their amazing contribution to music, lalala, but...it's not the type of music I generally enjoy. Also, who the heck is singing on 'Behind the Sea'? It doesn't sound like Brendon. (I will say though, I did like the sad sounding bit. So maybe there's hope yet? Maybe.)
Namie's '60s70s80s' single
This single is Namie's collaboration with Patricia Fields. (Who said lovely, lovely things about how Namie's hair is so long and lush and healthy that she was sure it was extensions until she touched it.) It's supposed to be a musical/fashion interperetation og those three decades. It seems like she had a lot of fun with this, but at first listen, none of the songs really jump out, although 'New Look', is pretty cute and catchy. I'm sure they'll grow on me.
Ikoku Irokoi Romantan Dai2Maku Drama CD
The drama CD only second installment of 'Ikoku Irokoi Romantan', the adventures of suave!Italian!Alberto, sea captain and Rambunctious!Protesting[too much]!Ranmaru, yakuza boss in training. Alberto continues to say devestatingly romantic things and make erotic overtures on Ranmaru, who continues to protest in vain, despite having admited at the end of the first CD that he's in love with Alberto. Rival yakuza Gondo is out to steal Ranmaru's reluctant wife Kaoru, Carlo,Alberto's old roue of a father is even more lecherous than his son...and Ranmaru's pride has made him swear to his gang members that Alberto is just a friend. What will happen?? I don't know yet, but I can't wait to find out. (Carlo cracks me up so much!! Crazy gaijin FTW!)
