Weekend Roundup

Thursday night we had a very unsatisfying (yet very Aba-like) good-bye with Aba, which mostly consisted of him coming over for like 10 minutes, most of which he spent freaking out about how he needed to pack and go to dinner at some other friend's house. It was disappointing, because I had thought we'd get to hang out more. But at least we had the good-bye party on Wednesday, with Aba and DS and Lyda, that was a lot of fun. I'm sad Aba's gone, he was a lot of fun to hang out with. Hopefully we'll keep in though through e-mail.
Friday night we saw Indiana Jones. I had never seen any of the Indiana Jones movies, so I enjoyed it pretty well.
On Saturday we went to see a movie made by the father of one of Cy's kids. It was pretty good, although I liked the main character's friend better than the main character. After the show a bunch of the staff and actors came out and talked and answered questions, which was really neat, because you get that with plays, but not with movies so much.
Sunday we went into J-town and did 3 hours of karaoke, which was fun as always. I have finally discovered the trick to singing SPEED songs is to lower the key a little bit. Also, 'Baby koi ni knock out!' is suprisingly fun to sing. We did a fun remix version of 'Numb' which was awesome.
I discovered (much to the detriment of my wallet) that the video store in J-town sells (very bootleggish) subtitled box sets of varous dorama, including Majo no Joken, which I want to get again because I think I lost the second disc. I bought 'Princess Princess D', and the Death Note movies. I want to save up money, because they also have both series of HanaDan, and Nobuta wo Produce, among others. I've been buying a lot of dorama lately, last weekend I got (from the store that sells raw series) a series with Bakanishi and Emi Suzuki, and Moto-Kare, which is a show starring Tsuyoshi Domoto and Ryoko Hirosue, as department store employees. (T is dating an elevator girls, but then R, who is his ex-girlfriend comes in as a new account manager.) It was on TV when I was in Japan, and I used to watch it, so I was happy to find it.
After we went to go see 'Iron Man', which I actually really really liked. Wow that Tony Stark guy has got charisma.
Yesterday I spent most of the day working on my translation that's due next week, and then we went to go see this French spy movie spoof which was really funny.
