Back in Cali~

Hey all.
So I'm back in Cali, with my first cold of the year. On one hand I don't mind as much though, because this way I don't feel the jetlag. LOL The flight was fine - afterwards I went into the city to meet Cy, and we went to see Reel Big Fish. It was a lot of fun, enough that I miraculously didn't fall asleep on my feet. It reminded me of that time I did the same thing to see Mystic right after getting back to Tokyo and it was horrible because they didn't even go on until like 1 AM. Anyway, it was fun.
Before, Cy and I killed time in J-town, always a dangerous thing to do, because I found all these things I want to buy, but now we have to go back later. We may go after work one day, since we'll already be in the city and can catch a bus from near Cy's work.
This weekend we did grown up real life things like clean and go grocery shopping - with all new recipes from new cookbooks! It was exciting! I want to bring back that sense of excitement and love of cooking, - and then we watched a lot of movies.
We watched:
- The House Boy
- Wild Tigers I have Known
- Sukitomi (featuring the always hot Saitoh Takumi)
- Boy's Love 2 (featuring an actor I'd never seen before named Konno Atsumi, who was so so beautiful.)
- Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog
We also have Wasabi, and the first two eps of Junjo Romantica to watch later on.
We discovered that CrunchRoll has completely got legit, which means that ALL the live action Japanese/Korean/Chinese movies and TV series are gone. It sucks so bad, because CR was one of the only places I could find a lot of the J and especial K doramas. Going Legit is all well and good if you're talking about anime, but the problem is that for live action, a lot of the shows and movies don't have legit subbed versions, so there is no equivalent. Or if they do, they're insanely expensive. The place I get my J-dorama Box sets from charges almost $50 a pop, and the Korean doramas cost $100. And that's just the stuff you can get. I'm really not happy about this.
Oh well.

Date: 2009-01-06 05:00 am (UTC)Dailymotion isn't a bad site, as far as I know; they sometimes have anime, at least, I can't find on youtube. Not sure about doramas though.
Also, I used IMEEM, recently, to watch anime. Again, not sure if they have doramas, but the video quality is nice. Hope you find some good results.
