My HP SLASH RECS: H/D SERIES
first, my favourite of favourites
Tissue of Silver by FearlessDiva.
Summary: A love story concerning possessed furniture, black silk pyjamas, courtroom drama, premonitions of doom, assassination attempts, Death Eater yoga, absinthe, bare feet and a sensible werewolf.
This has become my favourite H/D of all time, and along with it's sequels, and companion stories had made the 'Silververse', one of my favourite ever. I absolutely love her Snape, and her Draco. Fabulous. (See here for missing scenes, and sequels)
the beginning
Protective Bonds by Sadie Dragonfire.
Summary: Hermione discovers a book with an interesting protection spell, and Harry and Draco are left to deal with the results.
This was the first H/D I ever read, the one that turned me on to the pairing.
Checkmate by Naadi Moonfeather.
Summary: Draco has a plan to get Harry Potter, and challenges him to a game of dare chess - but is it seduction or betrayal he has in mind?
I started reading this fic when I first got to Japan last year, and was still lonely and at lose ends, and it cheered me up and distracted me from it all. Although I have neglected the recent chapters of this fic, it remains the only fic I have every commented on - I actually sent the author (who is very sweet) an e-mail thanking her and telling her how much it had helped divert me from my homesickness.
the classics
Love Under Will by Aja.
Summary: In their 5th year, Harry and Draco choose to be with one another; but the story--and the battle-- is just beginning...
This is possibly the classic of classics. Eventually it will be 3 parts, at moment, only the first (15 chapters long) is completed. Ignore the kind of cheesy beginning with the flower, it's a wonderful series! Everything by Aja is recommended
Underwater Light by Maya.
Summary: Seventh year Hogwarts, the war is ongoing, a spy is in their midst, the Triwizard Tournament is being held again - and yet Maya manfully ignores the plot to focus on pretty gay boys and their jeans. Oh, this woman has vision.
This is just wonderful, actually no sex as of yet, but a wonderfully snarky Draco with a penchant for blood-flavoured lollipops. You can't go wrong with any of Maya's work.
A Slytherin in Gryffindor Clothing by Mahaliem
Summary: Draco hits his head and wakes up in a world where he's a Gryffindor and Harry is a Slytherin.
This was rec'ed to me by Luna and Subs, and it's just lovely.
I left my Heart by Emma Grant.
Summary: Post-Hogwarts. Auror Draco Malfoy has disappeared, and Harry Potter has been sent to find him.
This is a very recent series, featuring a very original take on slut!Draco, in S.F, and some great ideas about the differences between the American and British Wizarding cultures. Also check out Sherants gorgeous fanart for it.
Invisible to See by Pandarus.
Summary not available.
This is a great fic though, hot hot sex, and very interesting characterisations. 7th year fic, if I remember correctly.
Transfigurations
Summary: Five years after Voldemort's defeat, Harry returns to England to help re-open Hogwarts
San pimped and pimped this to me until I read it, and I'm glad she did because despite the odd premise (Harry returning from Florida?), it's very good!
humour
Seamus is Seamus and You are Yourself by Ari Munami.
Summary: Harry goes through some... er, changes before Sixth Year. Everyone, including Draco Malfoy, sits up and takes notice.
Featuring the best slut!Seamus ever! also, Draco's mantra.
Cure for the Flu by Ivy Blossom.
Summary: Draco's got the flu, and when Harry and Draco duel some of his flu medication ends up in Harry's ear, making him...you guessed it. Telepathic. Only, it turns out that Draco has the world's most mundane thoughts. Will Harry survive the tedium? Can Snape (or Hermione) cure them?
This is just very funny. Draco muses about his toes, and Harry has a very dirty subconscious.
How Harry Potter Got His Groove Back" by Durendal.
Summary: Synopsis: Snape tries to hang himself, Draco enters an alternate reality, and Harry Gets a Clue.
This is just laugh out loud funny. With my fav quotable line from Snape: 'James Potter was a slut!' 'What!?' 'Er...ouch, my butt?'
Draco Malfoy the Amazing Bouncing...Rat!? by Maya.
Summary: Maya's very first fic, in which she tried to prove her love for Draco. Turning him into a rat and torturing him in a myriad of ways may seem an odd way to do this, but you always hurt the ones you love. And then wrap them in a sheet, make them a sex god and give them a fulfilling relationship with a cup of coffee. Hermione, too. But mostly the coffee.
This fic always makes me want to go and drink lots of coffee while reading it. So funny!
The Professional's Guide to Badgering by Maya.
Summary: What if Zacharias wasn't very impressed by Harry because he just isn't very impressed with anything? Contains the guide to taming Malfoys, mocking heroes and an unhealthy amount of shrugging.
I just love love this. This is also very quotable and laugh outloud funny!
