Yesterday was a lot of fun. Em and I went out to a Japanese place for lunch, and I had curry, which I hadn't had for sooo long, and it reminded me of Okaasan. We went to the comic store, to see the even more of our beloved titles have been taken over by Viz or TokyoPop. 'Please Save my Earth' in particular. I was actually just reading my PSME and thinking, 'I'nm surprised they haven't translated this yet'. It's really annoying, because...what else will be left? I don't think I'll be going into manga translations, they seem to have translated all of the best stuff already. ^^; Because they just picked up HanaKimi as well. ^^;; I wonder if it's only a matter of time before BeruBara. I hope not. I'm really possessive of it, because I spend sooo long translating that. Anyway, then we spent a long time in the bookstore, which was fun. There are so many books! LOL I left the store with three books, which did much damage to my wallet. I got the collected Claudine stories by Colette, who was a very very interesting French woman, who had many lovers of both genders her whole life, and seduced her 16 yr old step-son when she was 46. LOL Then I got a new book by Phillipa Gregory, whose books I really like a lot, called 'The Queen's Fool', about a Jewish girl who becomes Queen Mary and Elizaberth's fool.(Joel - this is the author of the Wildacre book) And last but not least I got a used paper-back edition of 'The Vampire Armand', because all I had was my signed hard cover. On the way home we went to Peet's Coffee, where I got a 'Vanilla Freddo', which was very good! Much better than Starbucks. We had dinner with Cathie and Pop-pop and Stacie, during which we had various discussions about Japanese culture and all, which made me miss Japan and everything there a lot. Then we all watched 'Le Divorce', which I had seen most of on the plane from Japan, and it still made me want to go to France and become some rich, sauve and sophisiticated Frenchman's mistress. LOL Em and I also rented Wilde, a.k.a the movie where Jude Law is rich and British and snotty and gay (Fanon!Draco, anyone?), and Orli has a cameo as a rentboy! We haven't gotten to watch it yet though.
I hope Em and I can get to see PoA this week, everyone else seems to have seen it twice now, and I want to see what my impressions are a second time around.

1) Does Starbucks in America have vanilla cream frappicuinos? they're wicked yummy. . . strawberries and cream is okay but fakey and I want to try matcha. . ..

2) I only read one book by Philippa Gregory--Zelda's Cut? It was modernish and I didn't like the ending. . . should I try a historical one? Right now I'm reading this book called "The Fourth Queen" about a Scots chick in the 1760s, maybe, who is kidnapped and joins a harem ^_^ It's actually not as bad as you might think from that description!

3)Wiiiiilde. The other night I had this dream that Jude Law really was playing grown-up Draco in a movie and he and a grown-up Daniel Radcliffe Got It On. wheeeeee. It was a lovely lovely dream.

4) I like Colette. I saw Gigi, liked it, and then read some of her short stories. She's very very clever. I also wanted to be a French mistress.

Mmm, Jude Law. He's so good at being an ass. . . I really liked him in Gattaca, actually.

and 5) ME WANTS TO SEE HARRY POTTER.

neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I am going to see it in Kariya on the 27th! I am counting down the days! Yesterday my friend Ian bought a chocolate frog and gave me the card from inside--it's Snape attacking a snake--and it's all shimmery and moves! and I love it! and I can watch it for minutes at a time! and then turn it upside down and watch some more!
